General Information
Prompt 79, Load SE, provides three functions:
1. Pack items into cartons.
2. Create new cartons.
3. Mark a shipping event as "Warehouse Complete."
Your barcode scanner's menu will be customized per your company's preference, but you can always access the Load SE function by typing "79" and pressing Enter.
The Basics
There are two main prompts in the Load SE function:
1.
Scan Outer Carton2.
Scan C/B/L/P/TThe first prompt allows you to scan the carton you want to pack.
The second prompt allows you to pack items into the outer carton. You can also enter a '-' (dash/minus sign) character from the Scan C/B/L/P/T prompt to see a count of open, unpacked items.
Load SE Directions
1. Scan the Shipping Event number. In the event the barcode will not scan, you can type in the shipping event number with 'SE' before it. In the example below, the SE number is 1618, so type SE1618 and press Enter.
2. After you have scanned the Shipping Event, you will be asked to scan an outer carton. The carton you scan will be the one you are packing items into. Another way to think of this is: "Scan the carton you want to start packing."
If you do not have a carton yet, and need to create one, press the plus sign "+" and then Enter. You will be asked to enter a Carton Name, select a carton type, and enter a Carton Location.
You can leave the carton location blank and press Enter. The location will default to "Staging."
3. After scanning or creating your carton, you will be prompted with "Scan C/B/L/P/T>". This allows you to pack a carton, bundle, SO Line, specific P-Number, or SE Transfer into your outer carton.

4. If you are scanning a lot controlled item, you will need to enter the lot number that the item being packed is coming from. If the item is not lot controlled, the next screen will just ask how many to pack.
5. Enter the Qty to pack into the carton.

- Enter the number of items to mark as Back Ordered
You can type a forward slash "/" at any time to move backwards one step. If you have finished packing a lower-level carton and want to pack it into a top-level carton, press "/" and then Enter. Then scan the top-level carton and scan the lower level carton you just packed.
6. Once everything has been packed and the Shipping Event has been fully loaded, you can press "***" and Enter to mark the SE "Warehouse Complete."
Warehouse completing a SE does not ship it. It only signifies that everything should be packed and is ready for shipment.
Scan C/B/L/P logic
You can scan five different things into the carton you've selected:
C = Carton: scan a carton to pack it and all of its contents into your outer carton.
Any carton that is not already linked to a Shipping Event can be scanned.
You cannot scan a destroyed carton.
You cannot scan a top-level carton.
You cannot scan a carton that has already been packed with line items from an order not linked to your SE.
B = Bundle: scan a bundle from Adjutant's bundling program to pack it and all of its contents into your outer carton. This also works with bundle numbers from AMS Controls' Eclipse software if you are integrated.
You cannot scan a bundle that contains line items from an order not linked to your Shipping Event.
L = SO Line: scan a sales order line on the pre-load report to pack a specific qty into your outer carton.
You cannot scan a line item from an order not linked to your Shipping Event.
You will be asked for a qty to load after a valid SO line has been scanned. You can enter the qty or press Enter to pack the qty remaining on the line.
If the SO line is serialized or lot controlled, you will be forced to scan a P-Number and then enter a qty.
P = P-Number: scan a tracking number to pack a specific qty of it into your outer carton.
You cannot scan a P-Number for an item that is not an order (or is not a transfer item) linked to your Shipping Event.
If the item you scan is only on one Sales Order line, then you will be prompted to enter a qty to load. If the item is on more than one SO line, you will be prompted to scan the SO line and then enter a qty to load.
You cannot enter a qty to load that exceeds the current required qty nor can you enter a qty that exceeds the current on hand qty for the item (if stock).
T = Shipping Event Interplan Transfer: scan a transfer number on the shipping event paperwork to pack a specific qty into your outer carton.
You will be asked for a qty to load after a valid transfer line has been scanned. You can enter the qty or press Enter to pack the qty remaining on the line.
If the line is serialized or lot controlled, you will be forced to scan a P-Number and then enter a qty.
