General Info
Prompt 88 allows users to send material to production to be cut into specific lengths. Users can then specify the weight of the new piece as well as the length and weight of the drop piece. The drop piece will then go back on the shelf with the length and weight provided. Users can also determine whether to cost their drop piece into the cut piece or keep it with the drop.
Items must be set up for Variable Quantity use. This set up will allow multiple lengths, weights and pieces to be tracked within lot controlled items.
Prompt Walk-Through
1. Scan the P# for the material you will be cutting.
2. Scan the Work Order Line for the specific length of the material.
3. Confirmation of the Quantity to Assemble (Q2A) and Length in Inches will display. The scanner screen will also confirm the material name (I) and the part lot number (MC). The user will need to confirm the number of pieces they will be cutting initially.
4. The scanner screen will again confirm the item and material (I and MC) and will also give an estimate of the weight of the cut piece. Users can override the estimate with the actual weight of the piece.
5. The scanner will confirm the piece count for the cuts. The user will then confirm the number of pieces to make.
6. The user will then confirm the number of pieces to use, in the case the lot has multiple pieces in a bundle.
7. The scanner will confirm a drop number and the user will enter in a drop length for material left over after the cut. The length should be in inches.
8. The scanner will provide an estimated weight of the drop based on the lbs per foot. User can then override the weight of the drop piece.
9. Finally, the user can decide whether to add the cost to the drop piece or to include it in the finished good. Hitting enter on this screen will put the cost into the drop piece. A No response will include it in the finished good.
10. The next step will be a confirmation to assemble the new specific length item. The user will enter a Y/N response.
11. The last step will be to complete the work order line or not.
