To print barcode labels from a local zebra printer when running Adjutant via RDP from ABIS's hosted servers.
Newer FTP Based version
Label engine running on server (either in session or as service) uploads label files to FTP server
Label engine running on local workstation downloads files from ftp server and sends to local printers.
Connect printers to local network
Change printers to have static IP addresses using the printer web interface (print config label to get IP address)
Install as printers on local computer that well runt the LEFTP local label engine as generic/text only printer, using IP address as port
Copy the LEFTP folder from the Adjutant share on the terminal server to the C: drive of the local computer.
Update leftp.txt file with names of new printers
Register the chilkat DLL (From an admin command prompt in the new LEFTP folder on the local computer, type C:\windows\system32\regsrv32 chilkatax-9.5.0-win32.dll and press Enter)
Start LE_FTP.exe on local computer, and leave running.
Add folder with same name to ADJLABEL ftp folder on customers FTP site on abiscorp.com server
Add printer to printer control in adjutant using ftp server name
Older redirected printer version
1) Install the zebra printer on a computer locally. Allow the printer to install using the default Zebra Drivers.
2) Add a new printer using the same port , using the generic/text only driver. It can have any name, but XXXBAR-99 or something would be good, where XXX is the CID and 99 is a counter. DEMOBAR-01, DEMOBAR-02 etc...
2) This printer has to be added to the Adjutant Printers (maintain/system/printers) The UNC name should just be printer name on the workstation
3) Enable LE_TS setup option (this will make the label engine convert the Adjutant Name to the current TS name)
4) Run the latest version of Label Engine in a session on the workstation that has the zebra printer installed. (Run labelprinterloader.exe in the adjutant folder)
