Shipping Contact General Information

The main function of the Shipping Contact is to designate a contact on the order for the specific shipping location. This might be the main contact at the job site that needs to know specific delivery information such as the shipping window. With the proper set up, the Logistics coordinator can contact the main shipping contact on the order with the push of a button, providing relevant shipping information.

Set Up

The Shipping Contact is designated by the SHIPPING CONTACT Attribute. This is automatically assigned to the contact when adding a Ship To on the fly from the Sales Order or Quote with the Red Plus option.

Using and Contacting the Shipping Contact

Once the Shipping Contact has been set up, they can be selected on the Sales Order as the Shipping Contact. This is a special dropdown filtering the Shipping Contacts associated with the Ship To Organization.

If using Shipping Events, the Shipping Contact will fill out on the Linked SOs tab as well as their default email and phone number.

On the Ship To Tab, the Shipping Contact displays, as well as an On Site Date, Start Time and End Time of the shipping window, and a miscellaneous note. The edit button on the right of the grid will allow you to edit directly into the grid. To add a Misc Note, double click the field.

Selecting "Contact Customer" will launch message control with a custom email template. The fields on the Ship To Tab are able to display within the email. Once the email is sent, the system will offer to mark the "Customer Contacted" checkbox, showing that the contact has been contacted with their on site time information.
