Function This rule establishes which Sales Orders (defined by the ShipVia method) will auto-alert the customer via email once all items have been put into cartons. Once all items are packed into cartons, an internal timer begins that increases each day from the production completed event.
This rule creates a feature that can be used to email customers that their order is ready for pick-up. The rule also allows for multiple levels of alerts based on the number of days that have passed since the items were packed. A final notice email (defined by the Final Step field) can be sent alerting the customer of how their order will be handled if it is not picked up.
For each Sales Order, the auto-alert process will stop once the order has been marked as shipped/closed or once the final step event has been reached.

Rule Setup – Text Fields
ShipVia: This is to determine which ShipVia(s) are used to set the alert. If this is filled out, the ShipVia (Log1) checkbox needs to be checked.
Template Name: This determines which Email Template is used at the point in time defined in the number fields. This should match the template name in the Email Template set up screen. The template corresponds to the Days Offset value to specify the specific email that should be sent after the number of offset days has passed. When Template Name, Step, and Days Offset are filled out, the Offset (Log2) box should be checked.
Rule Setup – Number Fields
Step Number: This is the order of the alert steps in the process.
Days Offset: This is the number of days after all linked Production Work Orders have been completed that the associated email will be sent. From the setup image above, if we are on Step Number 2 and the Days Offset is 3, the 'Order3Days' email template will be sent out to the customer 3 days after production is completed.
Rule Setup – Logic Fields
ShipVia: This should be checked for each ShipVia (Text1) entry that should generate alerts.
Offset: This should be checked for each entry that defines an alert step.
Final Step: This should be checked for only one 'Offset' record, and defines the last step of the alert process (both offset and final notice will be checked).
Additional Details
The automatic alerts will stop being sent once the order is marked as shipped or complete or if the Final Step alert is reached.
The Email Template name can be any name (there are no system defined templates), but the template must be created in the Email Template screen, and must match the name exactly.
