Q. Why did a batch not post?

Night Inventory Process

The night inventory process is made up of two programs that run everyday before business begins.

  • The Night Inventory Dump makes a file named niteinv from the previous days transactions and posted batches, and compares them day to day.
  • The Night GL Balance Compare compares the posted GL balance vs the inventory on hand balance day to day.

It should be noted that these processes come together and can be emailed to a user on a daily basis.

Note: This process only posts the batches it processes. Even if a user creates a system generated batch (SYSGEN) it will not get picked up by the night process and throw off the balance of the GL as compared to the on hand inventory.
