STEP 1: Open My Computer.

STEP 2: From the menu, select Tools >> Map Network Drive.

STEP 3: Select the drive letter that Adjutant resides on within your network.

STEP 4: Select the top-level folder that contains the Adjutant folder.

STEP 5: Click Finish.

STEP 6: Open the Adjutant folder.

STEP 7: Create a desktop shortcut from the AdjLoaderV9.exe file in the Adjutant folder. The easiest way to do this is to right-click on the file, select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut). You can close this window after completing this step.

STEP 8: Open the Control Panel. Start >> Settings >> Control Panel. More Detailed ODBC Setup

STEP 9: Open the Administrative Tools window and select Data Sources (ODBC). =====(If running a 64bit OS, you must use the 32bit version of the Data Sources Tool (windows\syswow64\odbcad32.exe) )=====

STEP 10: Click Add.

STEP 11: Scroll to the bottom of the window and select SQL Server (Native Client v9 - The Version 10 Native Client will not work).

STEP 12: Click Finish.

STEP 13: In the Name field, enter the name of the adjutant database. This can be found in the first line of the cstring.txt file in the adjutant folder.

STEP 14: Select the server name that the Adjutant database is located on. This will vary, contact your system administrator for more info.

STEP 15: Click Next.

STEP 16: Select Windows NT authentication or SQL Server authentication. If you are using Windows NT authentication, the logged in user must have access to the Adjutant SQL database. If SQL Server authentication is required, you must enter a valid Login ID and Password to connect to the SQL Server.

STEP 17: Click Next.

STEP 18: Select the adjutant database as the default database. Click Next.

STEP 19: Click Finish.

STEP 20: Click Test Data Source...if the test is not completed successfully, repeat steps 11-19. If the test does complete successfully, close these windows and return to your Desktop.



New Method

STEP 21: Browse to the Workstation Install folder in the Adjutant directory

STEP 22: Run setup.exe , then EmailActiveX.msi and then setupHTMLEdit.exe (Select Ignore for any overwrite warnings)



Older Method (does not work on Vista and Better OSs)

STEP 21: Double-click the AdjLoaderV9 file on your Desktop.

STEP 22: Log in to Adjutant using your Login ID and Password.

STEP 23: Locate the Register OCX/DLLs window. Maintain >> System >> Register OCX/DLLs. NOTE: Because Adjutant desktop menus are customizable, this screen may be in a different location on your menu.

STEP 24: Select all of the controls and click Register. You can select all of them by clicking the A button. Please note that the logged in user must be an administrator on the workstation in order to register these controls.

STEP 25: Click OK on all of the displays until finished. Close this window and start using Adjutant.
